This week, live music remains a regular part of Tamworth’s cultural scene, with performances at venues including The Castle & Falcon and The Sunflower Lounge. Sets range from acoustic sets featuring local musicians to full-band rock gigs on Friday nights, often drawing crowds from nearby areas such as Sutton Coldfield and towns along the A5.
Themed events are also taking place: a community poetry slam occurred on Tuesday in partnership with Staffordshire County Library’s outreach programme; an open-mic night hosted by Tamworth Arts Collective took place on Thursday, giving local creators space to share work across spoken word and jazz. Pop-up creative activities have been held at Ankerside Shopping Centre car park during daytime hours (10am–4pm), offering workshops in printmaking, textile design, and sound installation, materials provided on-site.
Daytime events include the weekly farmers’ market, which runs every Saturday near Tamworth train station from 8am to noon. Children’s interactive zones operate adjacent to food stalls. Security has been increased around stations and shopping areas during peak hours due to concerns over petty theft, particularly after evening performances.
For parking details at Ankerside or step-free access at the train station, check listings on Tamworth Town Council’s civic noticeboard.
